Pessi Levannon oma elokuvasävellysseminaari on täällä! Kaksipäiväisessä seminaarissa Pessi jakaa osaamistaan ja tietämystään elokuvamusiikin eri prosesseista pohjaten hänen kokemukseensa niin Suomessa kuin ulkomaillakin. Seminaariin voivat osallistua niin muusikot kuin elokuva-alan eri ammattilaiset. Nyt sinulla on mahdollisuus osallistua tähän ainutkertaiseen opetukseen.
KUKA ON PESSI LEVANTO?
Pessi Levanto on Suomen eturivin elokuvasäveltäjiä. Hän on tehnyt musiikin yli kahteenkymmeneen pitkään elokuvaan (Oma Maa, Psykosia, Kätilö, Saattokeikka, Havukka-Ahon Ajattelija, Käsky), yli kolmeenkymmeneen lyhyt- ja dokumenttielokuvaan sekä useisiin TV-sarjoihin ja spotteihin. Hän on ollut Jussi-palkintoehdokas kolme kertaa. Lisäksi Levanto on kysytty sovittaja ja orkestroija ja on sovittanut kymmenittäin kappaleita lähes kaikille Suomen orkestereille. Vuonna 2018 hän sovitti Classical Trancelations -konserttikokonaisuuden Hartwall Areenalla Helsingin Kaupunginorkesterille, Ahjo-kuorolle ja solisteille (https://areena.yle.fi/1-50007533)

Kartoitamme elokuvamusiikin tekoprosessin teknistä puolta. Suunnattu etupäässä muusikoille, mutta toki muillekin asiasta kiinnostuneille.

-Musiikki esituotantovaiheessa
-Demojen kirjoittaminen
-Studion varustelu ja ohjelmistot
-Ohjaajan kanssa työskentely
-Leikkaajan ja äänisuunnittelijan kanssa työskentely
-Spottaus
-Scoremusiikin sävellysprosessi käytännössä
-Orkestrointi / Music prep
-Scoremusiikin äänitys ja miksaus
-Pitchaaminen ja sopimukset
PÄIVÄ 2 - SUNNUNTAI 16.2.2020:
The Art of Film Score Music
Paneudumme elokuvamusiikin taiteelliseen puoleen. Suunnattu sekä muusikoille, että elokuva-alan ammattilaisille - lähinnä ohjaajille, tuottajille ja leikkaajille mutta kaikki muutkin ovat toki tervetulleita.
-Musiikki osana elokuvan narratiivia
-Scoremusiikin tehtävät ja mahdollisuudet
-Teemat, motiivit
-Elokuvamusiikin tyypilliset clichét ja niiden välttäminen/hyödyntäminen
-Musiikin rytmittäminen kuvan kanssa
-Yhtenäisen äänimaailman luominen ja uniikin sävyn hakeminen
-Case studies - esimerkkejä omista sekä muiden elokuvista
Kummankin päivän aikana pidetään 60 minuuttin lounastauko. Koko Teatterilta voi ostaa kahvia ja pientä syötävää.
Mikäli tapahtuma joudutaan perumaan, palautetaan ostajille lipuista maksettu summa (poislukien Billetto-lippujärjestelmän maksun käsittelykulut).

Pessi Levanto Film Scoring Seminar
Pessi Levanto's own Film Scoring Seminar is here! He is sharing his knowledge about the different processes of making music to the movies. He has gained experience in such diverse projects both abroad and in Finland. Now is your opportunity to participate in this unique lesson.
WHO IS PESSI LEVANTO?
Pessi Levanto is one of Finland’s foremost film composers. He has written scoremusic for over 20 feature films (Land of Hope, Psykosia, The Midwife, Unexpected Journey, Backwood Philosopher, Tears of April) and for over thirty short films and documentaries plus for several TV-series’ and commercials. He has been nominated for a Jussi award three times. In addition, Levanto is a sought-after orchestrator and arranger and has written dozens of pieces for almost all major orchestras in Finland. In 2018 he arranged ”Classical Translations”, a concert at Hartwall Arena for the Helsinki Philharmonics, Ahjo-choir and soloists (https://areena.yle.fi/1-50007533)

DAY 1 - SATURDAY 15th FEBRUARY 2020:
The Craft of Film Score Music
We will go over the technical side of film composing. This day is mostly aimed for musicians, but naturally everyone interested is welcome.
We will cover, for example:
-The production process of a film
-Music in the pre-production phase
-Writing demos
-Studio equipment, samples and software
-Working with the director
-Working with the editor and the sound designer
-Spotting
-The process of writing scoremusic in practise
-Orchestration / Music Prep
-Recording and mixing scoremusic
-Pitching and deal-making
DAY 2 - SUNDAY 16th FEBRUARY, 2020:
The Art of Film Score Music
We will dive into the artistic side of film music. This day is aimed for both musicians and other film-industry professionals. Namely directors, producers and editors but naturally everyone is welcome.
-Music as part of the narrative for film
-The function and possibilities of music in film
-Themes, motives
-Typical clichés of film music and how to avoid/exploit them
-Timing of music to the picture
-Creating a unified sound and searching for a unique tone
-Case studies - examples from my own works and other films
We will have a lunch break of 60 minutes during both of the seminar days. Coffee and sandwiches can be purchased at Koko Teatteri.
In case the event has to be cancelled, the ticket prices will be refunded to all customers (except the payment handling fees of Billetto, the ticket sales system).

I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?
