Tänä vuonna tulee täyteen kymmenen vuotta Damn Seagullsin esikoislevyn ”One Night At Sirdie’s” ilmestymisestä ja 18 vuotta bändin perustamisesta. Juhlavuoden kunniaksi hiljattain täysi-ikäistynyt helsinkiläisyhtye soittaa kaksi erikoiskonserttia kotikaupunkinsa Lepakkomies-klubilla perjantaina ja lauantaina 18.-19.9.2015.
Vanhoille kotikulmilleen palaava Damn Seagulls esittää ”One Night at Sirdie’s – Two Nights at Lepis” -juhlakonserteissa debyyttialbuminsa kokonaisuudessaan, jonka jälkeen on luvassa vielä muita Damn Seagulls -kappaleita vuosien varrelta. Perjantai-illan erikoisvieraana nähdään Särkyneet, ja lauantain lämmittelijä on Lokit.
"Lepiksen keikoilla aiomme ratsastaa röyhkeästi nostalgialla ja toivomme paikalle niin vanhoja kuin uusiakin faneja. Saarnamiehet tarvitsevat seurakuntansa," Damn Seagullsin pianisti-saksofonisti Niko Kangas kommentoi.
Damn Seagulls nousi maiseen 2000-luvun alkuvuosina, jolloin yhtye ansaitsi poikkeuksellisen kovan livebändin maineen soittamalla läpi Suomen merkittävimmät klubit ja festarit useaan kertaan. Monet muistelevat edelleenkin kaiholla esimerkiksi yhtyeen loppuunmyytyjä Tavastia-keikkoja. Nuoret pojat myös nauttivat suosiostaan tien päällä täysin rinnoin ansaiten paheksuntaa ja porttikieltoja useisiin keikkapaikkoihin. Kaiken kohelluksen ohessa Damn Seagulls onnistui kuitenkin keräämään uskollisen ja intohimoisen fanikannan. Katso bändin live-meininkiä vuodelta 2005: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMw013yulyc.
Uransa aikana neljä pitkäsoittoa julkaissut Damn Seagulls valmistelee parhaillaan uutta levyä, jonka julkaisusta tiedotetaan myöhemmin.
