Tämän hetken menestyneimpiin rockyhtyeisiin lukeutuva Imagine Dragons saapuu alkuvuodesta ensimmäiselle omalle keikalleen Suomeen. Helmikuussa uuden albuminsa ”Smoke + Mirrors” julkaissut yhdysvaltalaisyhtye esiintyy Helsingissä Hartwall Arenalla keskiviikkona 27. tammikuuta osana laajamittaista Euroopan kiertuettaan.
Läpimurtosingle ”Radioactive” vuodelta 2012 nosti Imagine Dragonsin kertaheitolla vaihtoehtorockin kärkinimiin. Grammyllakin palkittu biisi pysytteli Yhdysvaltain Billboard-listalla peräti vuoden ja sai hurjasti radiosoittoa maailmanlaajuisesti, myös Suomessa. Bändin debyyttilevy ”Night Visions” julkaistiin samaisena vuonna. Levyn ”Demons”-kappale lukeutuu Suomen viime vuoden soitetuimpiin, sekä radioissa että Spotifyssa. Suomessa bändiä on streamattu yli 20 miljoonaa kertaa, mikä vastaa platinamyyntiä.
Imagine Dragonsin Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermons, Ben McKee ja Daniel Platzman keikkailivat läpi alati kiihtyvän ”Night Visions” -levyn menestyksen ja saldoksi kertyi 130 omaa keikkaa ja 50 festivaalia ympäri maailman. Kiertueen aikana keikkapaikat ja yleisöt vain kasvoivat ja Brasiliassa bändi esiintyi jopa 80 000 ihmiselle yksittäisessa konsertissa. Suomessakin bändi käväisi festarikeikalla vuoden 2013 Ilosaarirockissa. Keikkailun keskellä bändi ehti säveltää kuitenkin jo uutta materiaalia ja toinen levy ”Smoke + Mirrors” julkaistiin tämän vuoden helmikuussa. Levyn singlet ”I Bet My Life” ja ”Shots” ovat nousseet listojen kärkeen ja radiosoittoon ympäri maailmaa ja vakiinnuttaneet Imagine Dragonsin paikan yhtenä maailman kuumimmista bändeistä.
