Viimeinen vuosi on absurdi draamakomedia vanhan miehen, tämän lapsen ja kotihoitajan suhteesta. Se pohjautuu pilapiirtäjä Ilmari Nykäsen (s. 1930) elämään ja äänitettyihin keskusteluihin.
Nykänen on elänyt vanhuuttaan omaisten ja kotihoidon apuun turvautuen viimeiset kymmenen vuotta. Näytelmä yhdistää dokumentaarisen elokuva- ja äänitemateriaalin osaksi fiktiivistä teatteriesitystä tarkastellen vanhustenhoidon tilaa ja suhdetta kuolemaan.
Kantaaottava esitys antaa äänen yksinäisille vanhuksille ja heidän omaisilleen, kotihoitajille sekä Ilmari Nykäsen elämälle.

Det sista året (Viimeinen vuosi) är en absurd tragikomedi som utforskar vårt förhållande till ålderdom och död. Pjäsen baserar sig på den finländska serietecknaren Ilmari Nykänens liv, verkliga filmer och ljudinspelningar kombineras med fiktion och teater för att skapa en halvdokumentär som handlar om modern hemvård. Den ställningstagande föreställningen ger en röst åt de ensamma äldre och deras familjer samt och deras hemvårdare.

The Last Year (Viimeinen vuosi) is an absurd tragicomedy that explores our relationship with old age and death. Based on the life of the Finnish cartoonist Ilmari Nykänen, real life films and audio recordings are combined with fiction and theatre to create a semi-documentary that looks at modern domiciliary care. The performance gives a voice to the lonely elderly and their families as well as the people taking care of them.

Yhdeksättä kertaa järjestettävä Korjaamo Teatterin Stage -festivaali täyttää kaupungin kiinnostavimmalla kotimaisella ja kansainvälisellä teatterilla jälleen elokuussa. Korjaamo Teatterin tuottama, Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamolla ja yhteistyöteattereissa järjestettävä festivaali tarjoaa suuria tunteita ja henkilökohtaisia tarinoita sekä oivaltavia näkökulmia tämän päivän ilmiöihin. 12.–23.8.2015 juhlittava Stage on myös Helsingin juhlaviikkojen yhteistyöfestivaali.
