Yhdysvaltalaismuusikko Tropic of Cancer saapuu loppuvuodesta ensimmäiselle Suomen-keikalleen. Kahden vuoden odotuksen jälkeen uuden materiaalin julkaisuun valmistautuva artisti esiintyy Helsingissä Kuudennen Linjan Kuudes Aisti -klubilla perjantaina 13. marraskuuta.
Tropic of Cancer -nimen takaa löytyy kalifornialainen monilahjakkuus Camella Lobo, jonka tuotanto sisältää elektronista post-punkia Twin Peaksin ääniraidan ja Nicolas Winding Refnin ohjaaman ”Drive”-elokuvan soundtrackin hengessä. Henry Millerin romaanin mukaan nimetty yhden naisen yhtye hakee tuotantoonsa innoitusta Joy Divisionin synkästä jälkipunkista, Suiciden minimalistisesta elektrosta ja artistin kotikaupungin Los Angelesin neonvalojen sävyttämästä yöelämästä.
Tropic of Cancerin esikoislevy ”Restless Idylls” (2013) on viimein saamassa jatkoa. Artistin seuraava julkaisu on lokakuussa ilmestyvä ”Stop Suffering” -EP, ja Tropic of Cancerin kakkosalbumin on määrä ilmestyä ensi vuoden puolella.
