Lettering is the art of drawing letters.
In this workshop you will learn the basics of hand lettering, how to draw different lettering styles and how to decorate your letterforms in a personal and unique way. We will talk about tools, finding inspiration and how to stay in a creative flow. Lettering is fun and relaxing and at the same time a great way to challenge your creativity. Maybe you need a logo, a personal business card, a social media banner? Or maybe you want to make a print for your living room wall or design your own birthday cards. Or maybe you just want to try and create decorative letters the old school way by hand with a pencil.
Lettering workshop is perfect for both hobby enthusiasts and professional illustrators and designers. So if you are totally new to lettering this workshop is perfect for you and also if you are a seasoned letterer you will get new tips and tricks to evolve your skills.
For this workshop you will need:
- a pencil
- an eraser
- white paper
optional: a ruler and a fineliner
During our 3 hour workshop you will get lots of inspiration, tips and trick and we will take time for you to practice each new lettering style I present. We will be learning by doing!
I will send you the Zoom link and practice sheets a few days ahead of the workshop. You can print the practice sheets and use them during the workshop. REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR JUNKMAIL INBOX IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THE EMAIL!
My name is Sofie Björkgren-Näse and I am the host of the workshop. I am a freelance lettering artist with my own company Fia Lotta Jansson Design. I have been sharing the joy of lettering for more than eight years and I love it.
