Vuosien myötä moni bändi on tullut ja mennyt, trendit ja tyylit muuttuneet, mutta Motörhead iskosti nimensä historiankirjoihin 40 vuotta sitten, ja tuli jäädäkseen. Termejä ’legenda’ tai ’ikoni’ käytetään usein heppoisin perustein, harvoin kuitenkaan edellä mainitut termit ovat paremmin paikallaan kuin puhuttaessa Motörheadista, Lemmy Kilmisteristä ja yhtyeen ikonisesta snaggletooth-symbolista. Yhtyeen lukemattomat keikat ja kiertueet, palkinnot ja tunnustukset sekä miljoonat ja miljoonat Motörheadbangerit ympäri maailmaa puhuvat omaa kieltään Motörheadin ansaitun statuksen puolesta.
Vuosi 2015 on juhlavuosi Motörheadille. Yhtye täyttää 40 vuotta, Lemmy täyttää kunnioitettavat 70 vuotta ja yhtye julkaisee 22. studioalbuminsa. Motörheadin elokuulle ajoitetun, vielä nimettömänä pysyttelevän albumin johdosta yhtye suuntaa tien päälle ja saapuu myös Suomeen. On siis aika valmistautua helvetillisiin itsenäisyyspäivänjuhliin, kun Lemmy ja kumppanit tuovat omat metallijuhlansa Hartwall Arenalle joulukuussa.
