Yhdeksi viime vuosien menestyneimmäksi rock-yhtyeeksi kasvanut Mumford & Sons saadaan vihdoin ensimmäiselle Suomen visiitilleen. Yleisöt ympäri maailmaa puolelleen voittanut, bluegrass-vaikutteita maalailevaan rockiin yhdistelevä brittiyhtye esiintyy Helsingissä Hartwall Arenalla lauantaina 7. toukokuuta. Vuonna 2007 Lontoossa perustettu Mumford & Sons on noussut ensialbuminsa ”Sigh No More” (2009) jälkimainingeissa yhdeksi tämän hetken suosituimmista yhtyeistä. Debyyttilevy nousi listakärkeen sekä Iso-Britanniassa että Yhdysvalloissa folk-henkisten ja banjovetoisten ”Little Lion Man” ja ”The Cave” -hittien siivittämänä. Kakkoslevy ”Babel” (2012) vuorostaan tarjoili ympäri maailmaa soineen ”I Will Wait” -megahitin, ja levystä tuli vuoden nopeiten myynyt albumi Isossa-Britanniassa. Myös Yhdysvalloissa suosio räjähti entisestään ja huimien myyntilukujen lisäksi bändi pokkasi ansaitusti Grammy-palkinnon Album of the Year -kategoriassa. Loistavana live-esiintyjänä tunnettu bändi nostettiin kotimaassaan myös pääesiintyjäksi Glastonbury Festivalille vuonna 2013.
Mumford & Sons julkaisi kolmannen albuminsa ”Wilder Mind” tämän vuoden toukokuussa. Levy on ollut jättimenestys Atlantin molemmin puolin, vaikka yhtye on jättänytkin kuuluisat bluegrass-vaikutteensa vähemmälle. Iso osa levyn kappaleista on sävelletty The Nationalista tutun Aaron Dresnerin autotallistudiossa Brooklynissä. Yhtye kuitenkin nauhoitti albumin pääasiallisesti Lontoossa tuottaja James Fordin (mm. Arctic Monkeys, HAIM, Florence & The Machine) kanssa.
”Wilder Mind” nousi listaykköseksi peräti seitsemässä maassa, mm. bändin kotimaassa sekä Yhdysvalloissa. Singlet ”Believe”,”The Wolf” ja ”Ditmas” ovat nousseet yleisön ja kriitikoiden suuriksi suosikeiksi. Yhtye julkaisee levyltä singlenä myös ”Tompkins Square Park” -kappaleen ennen marraskuun lopulla alkavaa loppuunmyytyä Ison-Britannian areenakiertuettaan. Alkuvuodesta Mumford & Sons suuntaa Etelä-Afrikkaan, jossa ”mumford-manian” johdosta bändi tekee alkuperäisen kolmen konsertin sijasta peräti kuusi konserttia. Ennen Euroopan kiertuettaan bändi tekee myös liudan jättikeikkoja Etelä-Amerikassa.
