Ruotsalainen raskaan musiikin yhtye Opeth viettää parhaillaan 25-vuotisjuhliaan. Death-metallia ja progressiivista rockia yhdistelevä kokoonpano soittaa tulevana syksynä muutamia yli kolme tuntia kestäviä juhlakonsertteja, joista yksi toteutuu Helsingissä Kulttuuritalolla tiistai-iltana 6. lokakuuta. Tapahtuman liput ovat myynnissä Lippupisteessä ja Tiketissä.
Syksyn juhlakonserteissa Opeth soittaa kaksi settiä. Illan ensimmäisessä osassa yhtye esittää vuonna 2005 ilmestyneen mestariteoksensa ”Ghost Reveries” kokonaisuudessaan. Väliajan jälkeen vuorossa on toinen täysimittainen keikka, jonka sisältö koostuu kappaleista Opethin pitkän uransa varrelta.
Tukholmassa vuonna 1990 perustettu Opeth aloitti uransa death-metallin parissa, mutta uransa edetessä kokoonpano on hakenut tuotantoonsa innoitusta varsinkin progressiivisesta rockista. Vuonna 1995 ilmestyneen ”Orchid”-debyyttilevynsä jälkeen Opeth on julkaissut kymmenen muutakin studioalbumia, joista uusin on viime syksyn ”Pale Communion”.
Uransa aikana lukuisia kertoja Suomessa vieraillut Opeth nähtiin edellisen kerran Helsingissä kesäkuun lopussa, jolloin yhtye soitti yhtenä Tuska-festivaalin pääesiintyjistä. Kulttuuritalon ikärajaton juhlakonsertti järjestetään yhteistyössä Radio Rockin ja Soundin kanssa.
