Vanilla Fudge mullisti musiikkimaailman 60-70 –lukujen taitteessa. Legedaarinen yhtye oli aikakautensa esikuva mm. Led Zeppelinille ja monelle muulle groovaavan rockin kitaravetoiselle groove-vääntäjälle. Kesäkuussa Nosturissa nähdään, kuinka legenda pistää luuta kurkkuun monelle nykypäivän yrittäjälle.
Mitä tapahtuu, kun yhtye 40 vuotta vanha yhtye saapuu lämmittämään Nosturin lauteita? Hyviä asioita, veikkaamme. Vanilla Fudgen soitto on edelleen vangitsevaa, palkitsevaa ja järkyttävän groovaavaa.
Vanilla Fudge saapuu Suomeen lähes alkuperäisessä kokoonpanossaan. Mukana ovat kitaristi Vince Martell, laulaja-hammondisti Mark Stein (ex-Alice Cooper) sekä rumpali Carmine Appice (King Kobra, Ozzy Ozbourne ). Basistina toimii Pete Bremy.
“Odotamme innolla ensimmäistä Suomen keikkaamme. Me tulemme rokkaamaan ja pitämään hauskaa. Itse olen aikaisemmin käynyt Suomessa ja viihtynyt aina erittäin hyvin.” Carmine Appice toteaa.
Nosturin ohjelmapäällikkö Mika “Nixon” Nikula on yhtyeen tulosta innoissaan. “Vanilla Fudge tulee olemaan yksi tämän vuoden kovimmista keikoista. On hienoa tarjota päästä isännöimään tämän tason legendoja Helsingissä.”
Wikipedia kertoo yhtyeen toimineen ainoastaan vuosina 1960-1970. Joku voisikin nyt päivittää sinne, että bändi toimii edelleen ja soittaa paremmin yhteen kuin koskaan.”
