Prunnifestin lauantain kruunaa Jarkko Martikainen.
Jarkko Martikainen on monien kulttuurialojen mies, mutta tärkeimpänä maalina on aina ollut laulunteon, levytysten ja keikkailun kolmiyhteys. Vuosien varrella hän on ehtinyt moneen. Viimeisin soololevy, Koirien taivas (Sakara records), julkaistiin alkuvuodesta 2014.
Tähänastisista töistään pitkäkestoisimman Martikainen teki YUP:n säveltävänä ja sanoittavana laulaja-kitaristina. YUP julkaisi yhteensä 11 albumia. Vuosina 1987 – 2008 toimineen yhtyeen aikana Martikaista kuvailtiin usein absurdistiksi ja satiirikoksi. Kun singlelevyjenkin nimet olivat usein mallia Meitä odotellaan mullan alla, Jos helvetti on täynnä ja Tavaroiden taikamaailma, siihen löytyi hyvä syy.
2004 alkaneen soolouran (ja etenkin 2006 ilmestyneen Rakkaus –albumin) myötä määritelmät ovat laajentuneet, tekemisiin on tullut mukaan myös pohdiskelevampia sävyjä, ja seuraavalta levyltä sopii odottaa niin sellaisia kuin myös äänekkäämpää ja kiivailevaa bändisoittoa.
Martikainen keikkailee soolona Voimala 1889:ssä lauantaina 22.7. klo 21.
